It's quite possible that hanging around dancer Stella Kutz might up your cool-factor. With a dry sense of humor, sass and soul to spare, and a love for movement in many forms, this second-year Relay dancer not only makes us look good when she's performing, but is simply someone you can't help but want to get to know. Stella received her training at Spectrum Dance Theater, and graduated with her BFA in dance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. See her dance in Fiona Vigdor's new work at RDC3 April 3-5, 2015 at Velocity Dance Center! Proudest accomplishment as an artist. Oh, boy!
My proudest accomplishment as an artist is remaining an artist and identifying as an artist throughout my life. It lives within me, regardless of the obstacles I've run into.
Most humbling moment as an artist. Seeing artists from all over the world at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, creating universally-riveting art from cultures I am wildly unfamiliar with, and are unfamiliar with me. The basic human condition translates through art!
What's your spiritanimal? Probably a spider. They're just so neat.
What's your guilty pleasure? My guilty pleasures are old Aerosmith and nachos.
If you were a cartoon from any animated movie, you'd be: I'd be a Mizayaki character if I was animated.
If you were a color, you'd be: I'm ultraviolet. Me and the flowers.
Three things in life you love are: I love coffee, podcasts, and cats.
What's next for you? Next I'm opening a theater and dance space in Georgetown, creating an open and collaborative art space for movement and community. (Editors note: RDC hopes to support Stella in this effort in the coming months!).
